On to the next stop!

On the first day in Malaysia we flew from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. Singapore airport has a butterfly sanctuary and free cinema which kept us busy! We arrived to 35 degree weather and rain. Finding our hotel was a bit of a mission as we are right in the centre of China Town and the markets were on. We explored the markets that night right outside our hotel. The next day (Sunday) we went

on a tour around the country side and city. We stopped at Little India, the Twin Towers, Batu Caves and the Kings Palace. Batu caves was worth the 272 step climb as its amazing at the top with temples and monkeys roaming around with their babies!

Duck!

Today was our spare day. We went on a duck tour - land and water vehicle. Got soaked and had a blast. We then caught the underground tube to Orchard Road - shopping, shopping and more shopping! Pretty much every building on that road is a giant mall. There is no way we could have gone through every mall in a day. The whole road was full of Christmas lights, their Christmas decorations are so much better than back home - they go bigger, brighter and over the top. Next stop Malaysia wooh! Singapore you've been fab! ;)

Zip lining in thunder and lightning!

On Thursday we went to Adventure Cove water park. Best water park we have ever been to - it not only had slides and pools but you could go snorkeling and see the dolphins. The lazy river was amazing, you go through 8 different zones. One was a glow in the dark zone where you go through a dark cave. There was one where you go past the stingrays and it feels like they are in the water with you. You also go through a tube with fish above and around you and over dolphins swimming beneath you. We took the cable car to and from Sentosa which had awesome views of Singapore. After Adventure Cove we felt adventurous and decided to go zip lining from the jungle to the beach in thunder and lightning! At night we visited Clarke Quay for dinner - restaurants, bars and night entertainment on the river side.

Zoo day & night!

On Wednesday we went to the zoo and night safari. We got to feed an elephant and see the orangutans up close. Was so surreal being able to walk underneath all the free roaming orangutans playing in the trees and see the little babies! In the middle of the day there was a big thunder storm but we were fine because we were under cover and got to watch the white tiger swimming around in the storm. The show at the night safari was definitely a highlight as well as catching the night tram around the zoo.

Universal Studios

On the second day (Tuesday) we got picked up nice and early for our transfer to Universal Studios. It was sooo big and had such a cool atmosphere. Unfortunately the main two roller coasters (the best rides) weren't working but there was still plenty of rides. The lines for the rides weren't bad but Nick didn't like waiting 45 mins for a ride that was like a minute haha.

We had lunch in a diner in Hollywood ;)
After Universal Studios we wanted to go the beach however we didn't realize it was free transport and walked everywhere!! Walking was the best way to get to see everything though and now we are pro walkers ;)

The beaches were amazing and as a man said 'its Singapore's Gold Coast'. There were palm trees, white sand, bars on the beach and outstanding views of the sunset.

Day 1 Singapore

On the first day we arrived in beautiful, hot Singapore! We finally found our hotel (Harbor Ville) after getting off at the wrong stop twice even though we had instructions right in front of us..whoops! We went to four giant malls and shopped all day! At night we tried the famous Singapore Sling at Raffles Hotel (where it was originally created)..It was delicious but we had to pay $68 for two! We went on the Singapore flyer at night which showed amazing views of Singapore and looked at the Gardens of Bay lights and light show on the harbor.
